Farah Khan’s Superlative Collection Called “Quaintrelle” Showcased By Gemmological Institute Of India Created Magic On The Ramp
Farah Khan’s superlative glittering jewellery collection called “Quaintrelle” showcased by the Gemmological Institute of India was a magical presentation at the India International Jewellery Week 2014 presented by Nazraana in association with P C Jeweller.
Trained at the well-known Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, USA, Farah Khan topped her class, and her creative talents have turned jewellery into heirlooms. Coveted by Bollywood stars, celebrities and connoisseurs of fashion, Farah has won several awards making the brand one of the most recognised globally.
Her “Quaintrelle” collection was an enthralling display of creativity, craft and cuts. Giving the modern fashion conscious woman a mélange of options, Farah offered jewellery that will ideally suit launches, lunches, presentations, parties as well as haute couture events and appeal to the home maker as well as the femme fatale.
Blending and juxtaposing her precious metals and stones, Farah had a line of soft sorbets and serene classics. Displaying a line of jewellery which played a soft melody on the ramp with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and precious stones; the show was a symphony of beauty and elegance. Cocktail floral rings, shimmering hoops with tassels for the ears, rows of rubies with an artistic bow pendant and bangles flecked with pearls and diamonds had a mesmerising effect on the audience.
Hoops were looped together with a discreet glitter, while rows of emerald were cinched with jewelled centres. Diamond chains had a collage of emerald leaves, strands of pearls had a burst of floral bouquet and chokers were given side slashes for an Avant Garde touch. Sapphires flared out from a pearl necklace and giant pear shaped multi pendants were the eye catchers on draped diamond strands.
The ethereal Lisa Ray was the perfect showstopper for the lovely collection, wearing a pair of stunning diamond, pearl, emerald danglers with ear lobe chains, a cocktail ring and encrusted bangle.
The fabulous creations for the show were by top designer Padmashri Wendell Rodricks whose look was the ideal complement to the collection. To a standing ovation from the applauding audience, Farah Khan walked the ramp with showstopper Lisa Ray and Mr Sanjay Kothari, Trustee, Gemmological Institute of India.
