Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery (IIGJ), Jaipur, aprojectof Gems &Jewellery Export Promotion Council with support from Government of Rajasthan is a pioneer institute for the Gems and Jewellery sector with a strong focus on Design, Technology and Management. The philanthropic approach of renowned jewelers of Jaipur along with the Council was instrumental in sponsoring the institute that stands today, as a landmark of elegance & aesthetics.

The State of the Art Institute equipped with the latest technology, paraphernalia of machinery gadgets, equipment and competent faculty resources make our education, deep and meaningful way to our jewelry trade and society as a whole. It is fully geared to cater to the need of the acute shortage of skilled manpower, faced by the Gem & Jewellery Industry The institute has a Research & Development Centre for the treatment of Ruby and Sapphires, which is one of its kind in India.

IIGJ Jaipur is the first training partner of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to impart training in various skill areas of Gem and Jewellery Sector.

The Indian Institute of Gems &Jewellery Jaipurwas formally inaugurated on 13th December 2010 by the Hon’ble chief minister of Rajasthan Shri Ashok Gehlot. Since then Institute has made a humble but noticeable progress. He also laid Foundation stone for the hostel building for boys and Girls on 18th August 2012. The Hostel building is under construction and will be operational soon to accommodate 300 students.

The institute is running professional programmes as follows

Design Programmes
• 3 Yeas Graduate Diploma in “Jewellery Design”.
• 2 Years Diploma in “Jewellery Design”.
• 1 Year Professional Certificate in “Jewellery Design”.

Gemology Programmes
• 3 months Diploma in Gem Identification.
• 3 months Certificate in “Gem Identification”.

CAD Programmes
• Certificate in CAD (Rhinoceros Ver. 5).
• Advance Certificate in CAD (Rhinoceros Ver. 5 with Matrix 7.5).
• Advance Certificate in CAD (MAtrix Ver. 7.5)
